And Van, not to be outdone, has decided to give you his very favourite stuffed bear so you have it for your new bedroom, he says. I think perhaps he intends to reclaim it when he comes to sleep over.

This weekend was not a good one by any stretch of the imagination.

Saturday was the 27th. I had nightmares all night, as I should. I deserved them. Over and over and over I saw him in my dreams, looking at me with blood streaming from all the wounds that bitch Bellatrix gave him. I know what I did was right. I know what I did was the only thing I could do. It was humane. No one with any shred of decency could have turned away from him, could have let him die the way she'd planned. He was in pain. He would never have lived, not even if I'd Apparated him at that very moment into the middle of Casualty at St Mungo's.

Still, watching her this weekend, seeing the sadness in her eyes... I love my wife. My ex-wife. Nymphadora. I love her. And knowing her grief was caused by me rips my heart to shreds.

She let me sit with her Saturday night, on the sofa in Potter's television room. She was watching some film, ridiculous at best, and when she saw me standing at the door, she held out her hand and drew me down next to her. We didn't talk about anything important, didn't mention her father. But she let me stroke her hair and tease her gently and kiss her goodnight before I Floo'd to my empty rooms.

I know she has no reason to forgive me. I'm not certain were I in her shoes that I would be able to do so. But I want her to. Things between us will never go back to the way they were. I know that. What's been shattered can never be completely reformed. But sometimes cracks and chips can be beautiful.

Sometimes.

And then there's Father. And Draco. And Potter.

I've never bothered to hide my dislike of Potter. What reason would I have for doing so? He hurt my father. He ruined their marriage. I don't think it's ever entirely recovered, and to be bluntly honest, Father was a fucking fool to ever allow him into their bed, the swine. And now...Christ.

I overheard them Sunday night. I'd come up to check on twins and I was just about to step out of their room when I heard Draco and Potter talking. I heard what they said. About Lily. About Father. I heard them--bloody fuck. There's nothing more nauseating than listening to your stepfather beg another man to take him. Merlin.

Draco took off his wedding ring. I saw him. Watched him slide it off his finger and drop it in his trousers pocket.

He doesn't take off his wedding ring. He doesn't. And definitely not to pretend that shitty bastard cunt owns him. Motherfucking hell. I wanted to curse him right there, Saviour of the Fucking Wizarding World or not. Fuck him. How dare he. How fucking dare he?

I'm done with this. I'm done watching him tear Father's heart out piece by piece, whether or not Father even realises what's going on at the moment. I won't have him wake up one day, memory intact, only to find his marriage usurped by that piece of shit.

I want Potter gone. I want him out of Lake Cottage, out of Father's life and out of Draco's damn arse. And I'm pretty fucking certain I know how to do it. All I need to do is push Draco in the right direction.

Miss Weasley is a start.

I want my family back.
